Are YOU the next MasterTech?
Seeking 3 students to represent Flinders University at Cisco Live’s tech hackathon, MasterTech.
MasterTech is a 5-day hackathon that responds to a tech partner’s real world scenario where teams develop a novel tech solution. Teams have access to a curated ‘pantry’ of cutting-edge technologies to experiment with, along with expert technical advisors and facilitators to help push the boundaries of what is deliverable and what is feasible.
November 3-9
Teams are virtually connected via Webex with other teams from across Australia and begin with discovery and ideation, guided by the tech partner brief and facilitators.
November 10-13
Teams travel to Melbourne to participate in real-time at Cisco Live – a massive tech event taking over the Melbourne Convention Centre – to bring their tech solutions to prototype. Here, teams have access to additional technical advisors to drive their solutions towards the final showcase event.

- 3 November
- Presentation from Coles, Cisco Research Chairs and problem statement unveiling
- 6 & 7 November
- Virtual kick off and working sessions. Participants to work from their respective Innovation Central with regular huddle sessions connecting all Innovation Centrals across the region.
- 9 November
- Arrive Melbourne. Welcome dinner and accommodation at La Trobe University.
- 10 – 12 November
- MasterTech Hackathon held at Cisco Live Melbourne
- 12 November
- Afternoon pitch session to Coles and NIIN leaders.
Open to all genders and all study levels. Teams will benefit from a mix of software development, user-experience, and customer or business focus.
