Higher Degree Research and Innovation Central Perth

As Curtin University continues to recognise the importance of Higher Degree Research (HDR), ICP were excited to be able to attend one of their insightful HDR presentations.

This targeted panel and mini-expo invited Curtin staff, Masters students and PhD candidates to hear from knowledgeable professionals.

It was inspiring to listen to one of ICP’s summer students, José Roberto Loureiro, as he participated on the panel as a PhD Candidate. Jose discussed his academic experience with Curtin University, as well as the industry experience gained throughout his internship with Innovation Central Perth.

At the event, ICP got the chance to engage with multiple HDR students. It was incredible to hear about so many impressive research projects, and we hope ICP is able to continue connecting students to industry whilst bridging the gap between research and academia!

ACTIVITIES

Project Spotlight: Interactive WebDesign

In collaboration with Heal Domain, ICP have been working on an exciting On-Demand project which aims to create a digital platform providing the continuum of care for allied health professionals and their patients. To achieve this target, prototype web portal was established to enable extended care and access to a wide range of allied health services.

Salma Jarrar, who is in her 4th year of Digital Experience and Interaction Design at Curtin University, accomplished the outcome for this project. Salma produced a customisable and interactive web portal tailored for desktop devices. The portal developed assists both patients and healthcare professionals by creating health care programs, conducting assessments, and scheduling online appointments.

Salma has equipped this application to be accessible in an efficient and intuitive manner.

ICP are proud of the outcomes of this design project, and we hope Heal Domain value and utilise this application!
