Step into the world of cyber security and put your skills to the test at ICA’s inaugural Capture the Flag Challenge Day. This immersive, full-day experience is designed to introduce you to real-world cyber scenarios in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Whether you’re completely new to cyber security or already building technical skills, this event is open to university students from all disciplines. No prior experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

What to expect

Take on the role of a security analyst as you tackle challenges across systems, code, and networks. Throughout the day, you’ll uncover hidden “flags” while developing practical problem-solving skills used in real cyber security environments.

The day includes:

  • A Cisco-led Capture the Flag competition, with the opportunity to progress your Ethical Hacker badge
  • A live cyber-attack and defence simulation, working in teams
  • Expert guidance from ICA specialists Richard Dodsworth, Alistair Macvicar and Tina Fotoupolos
