In 2022, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) secured a substantial $200,000 grant from the Queensland Government’s Department of Environment and Science, courtesy of the Youth Research Grants Program. Acquiring this grant saw the launch of The QUT Youth Research Forum (YRF), a collaborative endeavour, led in partnership with Innovation Central Brisbane, the Centre for Future Enterprise, QUT Entrepreneurship, and QUT’s School of Biology and Science. The QUT YRF focused on designing for future food. The program included a three-phase, ten-week, structured ideation-to-prototype program: Hackathon, Build, and Showcase
